More snow! Two more inches Monday night and we expect more on Thursday. It looks like a great month ahead for snowmobiling here in Rangeley.

Cautions: There are still some thin areas, icy corners and other obstacles here and there. Use caution on the trails. Be very cautious if you consider riding any of the lakes. Ice ridges are forming.

Trails are open with good to very good riding conditions.

There is over 20 inches of new snow at higher elevations in the backcountry. You off-trail riders finally have some fun ahead. Be very cautions of stumps and obstacles in the off-trail areas. We still do not have the snow base we have over the past three years.

Watch for wet areas on the lakes.

If you plan to ride out of the Rangeley Trail System, consider looking at the MSA Snow Reports at Mesnow.com or at the web sites of specific clubs.  Conditions are so-so on some of the trails to our east and south.

New Trail designation – Corridor 108 -This trail connects ITS 84 north of Oquossoc at Junction R7 to ITS 89 near East Kennebago Mt.  at Junction R13.

New Trail – Barn Trail – This new trail runs between the Russell Cove Trail just after the Airport (formerly the Club House Trail) and the Cedar Swamp Trail. It is the shortest route between Rangeley and East Kennebago Mountain. There is a portable toilet available at the RLSC Groomer Barn just off the trail. You can park and access the trail system from the Barn. If you park there please do not block trail access, parked groomers or building doors.
